Speaking Exams will be carried out on 14th January 2022. 

You are going to talk about yourself very briefly (maximum 1 minute). You MAY USE some of the ideas below:

Where are you from? Why are you here in Bilecik? What do you think about the city, university, campus, university life? What is your department? Why did you choose to study this department? Your future plans, Why did you choose to study English?  Your favourite free time activities, your hobbies & phobias, a bit of your personality.

DO NOT talk about your physical appearence and details about family.

Then a question/picture will be randomly selected. You are going to answer the question or describe the picture in 4 minutes maximum. 

A1 and A2 students will describe a picture.

Picture Description

The picture will be randomly selected and you will see the picture on the screen.

You may guess about the picture but DO NOT MAKE UP A STORY. (maximum 4 minutes).

B1 students will answer a question.

Güz Dönemi Değerlendirme Anketleri

Üniversitemiz anket uygulama takvimine göre 2021-2022 Eğitim-Öğretim Yılı Güz Yarıyılı için “Ders Değerlendirme”, “Öğretim Elemanı Değerlendirme” ve “Uzaktan Eğitim Sisteminin Değerlendirilmesi” öğrenci anketleri 27 Aralık 2021-09 Ocak 2022 tarihleri arasında uygulanmak üzere Öğrenci Bilgi Sistemi (OBS) üzerinden öğrencilerimizin değerlendirmelerine açılmıştır. İyi çalışmalar dileriz.

Lyricstraining Yarışması

Yabancı Diller Yüksekokulu olarak hem eğlendiren hem de kazandıran bir yarışma ile karşınızdayız. Yarışmada kullanılacak site/uygulama Lyricstraining’dir. Bu uygulamada amaç İngilizce şarkılar dinlerken şarkı sözlerinde rastgele çıkan boşlukları doğru kelimelerle tamamlamaktır. Yarışma “beginner” seviyesinde “multiple choice” modunda yapılacaktır. Yarışmadan önce telefonunuza uygulamayı indirip giriş yaparak alıştırma yapabilirsiniz. Ücretsiz versiyonu her yarım saatte 3 şarkı dinlemeye izin veriyor. Ne kadar az hata yaparak boşlukları doldurursanız o kadar çok puan kazanırsınız. Yarışma günü de yine kendi telefonunuzdan veya bilgisayarınızdan giriş yapacak ve sırayla kurayla çekilen üç şarkı ile yarışacaksınız. Bu üç şarkının toplam puanları alınarak kazananlar belirlenecektir. Eşitlik olması durumunda bir şarkı daha dinlenecektir.  Herkes şahsi kulaklığını yanında getirmelidir.

ACTIVITY – Video Recording

TASK: Record a 3-4 minute video describing your hometown.

RULES and HOW TO:

  • Minimum 3 minutes and maximum 4 minutes.
  • Use as much vocabulary as you can. Videos will be graded based on:
  1. Content & Organization
  2. Language use
  3. Speaking Skills
  4. Delivery
  5. Presentation of the material
  • The video should be one piece. (this can involve the student starting the video then pausing and continuing to generate a whole final single video project).
  • The student can include relevant photo’s and visual material in the video.
  • The student must not read from a pre-written script to the video camera.
  • The video must not just be audio sound or just pictures or just the surroundings being filmed and no narration, the student also needs to be visible throughout the whole video to ensure the student isn’t reading from a pre-written script.
  • The student will start the video by saying their first name, surname and class (e.g. This is FigenUçmaz from A11. I am going to shoot a video about my home town. I am going to describe Adana. Adana is a very beautiful city with its …)
  • Save the video as your first name_surname_Class_VR2 (VR stands for Video Recording)(e.g. Figen_Ucmaz_A11_VR2)
  • No late submission will be accepted.

2021 – 2022 SPRING A2 SPEAKING PORTFOLIO PROJECT 2

ACTIVITY – In-class Presentation 

TASK – Prepare a 3-4 minute presentation. Choose ‘a’ , ‘b’ or ‘c’.

a) Describing where you live.

b) Planning a dream trip. (family holiday/beach holiday/caravan/cruise/safari/skiing etc..)

  1. How much does it cost approximately?
  2. What is your route?
  3. Where are you going to visit?
  4. Who are you going with? etc.

c) Talk about something special you did. Give details about the questions and more:

  1. When was it?
  2. Where were you?
  3. Who were you with?
  4. What did you do?
  5. Why was it special for you?
  6. How did you feel?
  7. Any photo?

b) Choose two of your best friends or family members, describe them individually and then compare them. Show a photo of you together and tell the story behind it.
