Goals


The aims of the Department of Accounting and Auditing are to train individuals who have good command of techniques and applications regarding accounting and finance management, independent auditing, accounting/financial reporting standards, internal control, internal auditing, corporate governance, business and accounting ethics.

Objectives


Accounting and Auditing Program aims to train individuals who have good command of techniques and applications regarding accounting and finance management, independent auditing, accounting/financial reporting standards, internal control, internal auditing, corporate governance, business and accounting ethics, who are equipped with analytical thinking, problem- solving, and decision-making skills, and who are equipped with “innovative” skills in theoretical, analytical, and occupational levels.

 

Graduation Requirements


In order for a student to graduate from the Department of Banking and Finance he or she has enrolled, he or she is required to complete sucessfully the compulsory and elective courses which require at least 240 ECTS credits, get at least DD or S grades from all of the courses and must have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.00. In addition, the student must complete 40 working days internship successfully.

 

Professional Profile of Graduates 


The graduates of Accounting and Audit can generally work in local and international organizations in the areas of accounting, finance, inspection, banking and insurance. Graduates are employed in positions of manager and prospect manager in accounting and finance departments of all enterprises engaged in public or private sector. Graduates can be Independent Accountant or Public Accountant provided that they pass professional competence exam, and after that they can be Certified Public Accountant provided that they meet the necessary conditions. In addition, students can have academic career and be assigned in universities as academicians as they complete postgraduate and doctorate educations after their undergraduate education.
