With our project;
- The existence of plants containing medicinal and aromatic compounds, which are distributed in and around Bilecik province.
- Implementation of infrastructure studies for gene bank to be created for endemic plants.
- Obtaining secondary metabolites that are produced by medical plants in order to do collaborations with the field of pharmacology and chemistry, even making the region attractive for collaborations with various industrial establishments.
- Raising awareness of citizens about endangered species of endemic and medicinal plants.
- It is aimed to introduce the region and increase its preference, and also contribute to the socio-cultural development of the people in the region.
- In addition, medically important taxa which are endangered; it is planned to replicate the taxa with time-consuming, economic or industrial production or with less number of efficient individuals by tissue culture techniques. Thus, the difficulties of the production phase of plants with medical prescription will be overcome, increasing the production of these plants and increasing the preference of the region, socio-economic development will contribute and increase the quality of life and welfare of all segments of the society.
- It is planned to replicate the medically important taxa which are endangered species and, also reproduce the taxa which have economically and industrially time-consuming production or less number of efficient individuals by tissue culture techniques. So the difficulties in the production phase of plants with medical prescription are being overcome, increasing the production of these plants raising the preference of the region and also contribute to the socio-economic development of the region. And also, will increase the quality of life and welfare of all segments of the society.
Furthermore, with the establishment of ECO-Biotechnology AR-GE unit;
- Providing the necessary infrastructure for academic members and researchers working in the Biotechnology Application and Research Center to make scientific and industrial projects.
- Increasing the quality and effectiveness of scientific studies with medicinal and aromatic plants.
- Increasing the number of collaborative and planned projects with industrial establishments.
- Providing economical evaluation of plants containing medicinal and aromatic compounds in and around Bilecik province and showing how rural farmers can obtain economic benefits from these plants.
- It is aimed to create laboratory environments in which practical training can be provided to undergraduate and graduate students at our university.
