Physically, Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University has a wide campus that is growing daily where students can make use of the facilities to meet their cultural and daily needs. Accommodation in Bilecik is quite reasonable for incoming visitors. A government dormitory next to the campus is available to visitors during the orientation period, while private hostels also provide service.

Transportation

Arriving to Bilecik from İstanbul has different options. Visitors may take train from İstanbul to Bilecik which takes 4 hours. Visitors may also come to Bilecik from İstanbul by bus which also takes 4 hours (appr.) Domestic airline which is half an hour away from Bilecik gives service to many cities in Turkiye. Local transportation, from school to downtown, to the hostels and dormitories are provided by minibuses.

Food Services

Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University has its food service during day time. Students can eat their meals with a fair prize like about 1-2 Euros. Most of the private hostels include breakfast and dinner to the prizes. All kinds of restaurants serve various foods.

Health Services

A public hospital and a public dental hospital are available for students. There are 15 pharmacies in downtown.

Language Courses

Intense Turkish Language Courses are available for the international students who wish to learn Turkish.

Sport Facilities

Anyone who is interested in sports can participate to the sport facilities like basketball, tennis, volleyball, soccer, astro turf and many other indoor and outdoor facilities. International students can play in official sport tournaments.

Other Facilities

Many Social Student Associations like Theatre Club, Movie Club, Photography Club, Dance Club, and Folk Dance Club are open to the visitors.

Information about Bilecik

Bilecik is the provincial capital of Turkey’s Bilecik Province. The population of the town is 62,320 (as of 2010). The town is famous for its numerous restored Turkish houses. It is increasingly becoming more attractive to tourists. With its rich architectural heritage, Bilecik is a member of the European Association of Historic Towns and Regions.30 kilometers southeast from Bilecik is Söğüt, a small town, where the Ottoman Empire was founded in 1299.Bilecik has a mediterranean climate near the borderline of the continental climate with cold and often snowy winters and hot and dry summers. Summers are hot and dry with temperatures usually exceeding 30°C in the height of summer, they are also the driest months. Winters are cold and it frequently snows a lot between the months of December and March.
