Erasmus Experiences of Tourism Management and Hospitality Students

Our students go in for the Erasmus Program.

Erasmus Program contributes to students’ language and entrepreneurship skills, to increase their problem-solving skills, to express themselves better and to be more successful in intercultural communication.

Two students (Enes Gurleyik and Merve Ornek) completed their one-semester education at Sannio University, where our department has an agreement with the Erasmus exchange program.

In addition to the Learning mobility, students can benefit from the Erasmus Program through Internship Mobility for departments that have internship requirements. In this context, students had the opportunity to have a 60-day compulsory internship in the reception, kitchen, service and entertainment services departments of 4-5 star hotels operating in different regions of Spain by Beatriz Hotel and Gloria Palace Thalasso, which our school has contracted. With this program, 2 students in 2017 (Aykut Barcin, Cem Bahadır Genc), 4 students in 2018 (Aykut Barcin, Cem Bahadır Genc, Dorukcan Ozdener and Rumeysa Gul Sahin), and 6 students (Enes Gurleyik, Erhan Tuncel, Halil Yenivatan, Merve Ornek, Tenzile Sen and Timurcan Bugdayci) completed their internships in 2019 at departments of the hotels in Toledo, Albacete and the Canary Islands of Spain. By this Program and our agreement between industry, our internship students had the opportunity to both recognize the business environment in a different country and potential job opportunities after the internship.
