Research Interest

Our laboratory is interested in epigenetic changes in cancer which is the study of heritableand acquired changes that affect gene expression and cellular differentiation without DNA sequence alteration. The Lab is directed by Onur EROGLU, Ph.D.

Epigenetic changes are now thought to be just as important as gene mutations in cancer development. The ultimate goal of the lab is to define the full spectrum of epigenetic changes that occur in cancers, to discover the molecular causes of these changes, and to translate that newly gained knowledge into the clinic in the form of novel, epigenetic-based therapies.

Our lab is also focus on SNP variations in single gene disorders, drug designand interactions, stem cell biology, tissue engineering, cytogenetics, molecular cytogenetics, molecular genetics and spot genomics.

Under the consultancy of Dr. EROĞLU, 6 master of science thesis and 29 under graduate thesis have been finished. He is currently conducting research with 5 Ph.D.students, 3 graduate students and 5 under graduate students. 9 research projects have been completed upto now with mentioned work areas. Dr. EROĞLU continues to work with 4 projects including 2 projects as a coordinator and 2 projects as a researcher.
