Research Interest
Dr. Unal and her research team carry out research generally on plant stress physiology and polyamine metabolism. In addition, tolerance mechanisms in high plants and other photosynthetic organisms against temperature, pollen, heavy metal, and salinity stress are investigated. Moreover, photosystem II repair mechanisms and hormonal signaling pathways and their relationship with polyamine metabolism are among the ongoing research of Dr. Unal’s laboratory.
They have a joint research/collaboration with Dr. Alejandro Ferrando from the Institute for Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology of the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
Dr. Poyraz and his research team conduct research in the fields of molecular systematics, genotoxicity, molecular genetics, and cloning.
