Statistics; is a science that provides the necessary information and methods to set up models about events, systems and processes involving randomness, to test the validity of these models and to draw conclusions from the models.
Statistics is one of the basic sciences such as , mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology. Statisticians are responsible for planning production, quality control and process control, and foresight in the areas they are working on. In addition, statistical science is used in the data analysis phase of all scientific researches.
Working Opportunities
The statistics department graduates has the ability to work in many different areas. Such as; at public institutions (TUIK (Turkish Statistical Institute), SGK (Social Secırity Instution), The Central Bank, Universities, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Trade, National Defense Department etc.), hospitals (public hospitals and private hospitals), sports clubs, newspapers, production planning and quality control units of factories, finance and insurance sector, software companies, etc..
