ENGLISH PREP CLASS – SPRING TERM 2021

SPEAKING PORTFOLIO PROJECT BRIEF DETAILS OF ASSIGNMENTS

PROJECT 3 ACTIVITY: Talk about your favorite film or book.

4 minutes to 6 minutes.

  • Stay at home and keep safe during this project.
  • Use as much vocabulary as you can. Video will be graded based on
    • Grammar,
    • Vocabulary
    • Discourse Management
    • Pronunciation
    • Interactive Communication
  • The video should be one piece. ( this can involve the student starting the video then pausing and continuing to generate a whole final single video project).
  • The student can include relevant photos and visual material in the video.
  • The student must not read from a pre-written script to the video camera.
  • The video must not just be audio sound or just pictures or just the surroundings being filmed and no narration, the student also needs to be visible throughout the whole video to ensure the student isn’t reading from a pre-written script.


Start the video by saying your first name, surname, and class (e.g. This is Figen Uçmaz from D1. I am going to shoot a video about……)

Save the video as your first name_surname_Class_VR3 (VR stands for Video Recording)(e.g. Figen_Ucmaz_D1_VR3)

The student must save the YouTube video on their channel and set the video to unlisted (not private) or create their video using google drive tools and share viewing access to the video with Speaking Instructor Miriam for marking and evaluation purposes.

The student must send their youtube or drive link to the Speaking Portfolio P3 Video 3 on the UZEM platform before 26.04.2021.

If the student submits the video after the deadline it will be ungraded. ( The mark will be zero unless there are mitigating circumstances such as a student is very ill and unable to complete the task due to illness they can request an extension).
